University of Puerto Rico-Raffles Hong Kong Collaborative Interior Design Studio
Do you want to learn interior design through interacting and exchanging ideas with design students from another country? Raffles students do!
Raffles Hong Kong’s Year 2 Interior Design students are collaborating with students from University of Puerto Rico School of Architecture for the Design Studio 3 project! The students from both schools will work as a team to design a travelling exhibition between the two countries separated by over 15,000km.
This term long collaborative project focuses on designing a travelling exhibition to promote cultural interaction of Puerto Rico and Hong Kong by showcasing their street food: Dai Pai Dong and “Chinchorro” (the Puerto Rico version of Dai Pai Dong).
Last week, Raffles students presented the design concepts to Professor Humberto Cavallin of the School of Architecture at the University of Puerto Rico in an online video conference.
With the feedback given from Professor Humberto Cavallin and Raffles’ Interior Design Coordinator Victor Serrano, the students will start to develop their ideas and work with students from Puerto Rico as a team.
Stay tuned for the project updates – we’ll be having the second meeting very soon. Looking forward to working with the Puerto Rico students!
