Raffles Hong Kong’s Alumni has been awarded the Gold Prize of the IDA design award 2016!

Sue Suh, Raffles Hong Kong’s Fashion Design (Bachelor of Design) graduate in 2015, with her brand :8CUFF has been awarded the Gold Prize in the Prêt-à-Porter Menswear Category of the IDA (International Design Awards) Design Awards 2016.


 
Sue Suh was the winner of the Collection of the Year and the Brand Ready Award at the Raffles (Hong Kong) Fashion Show at Hong Kong Fashion Week in 2014. Following her participation at Paris Fashion Week with her graduate collection, she was invited to return in 2015 to show her follow-up collection, designed under the guidance of the Raffles (Hong Kong) Fashion Department, and it is this collection that received this outstanding achievement.




About Sue Suh / :8CUFF:


Sue Suh (aka :8CUFF) is a young talent and a design innovator. She was born in Seoul and trained as a designer in Raffles International College (Hong Kong). After her graduation at Raffles Hong Kong, she pursued a Masters in Fashion Design at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and graduated this year.
She explores gender boundaries in her design aesthetics and tries to find innovation between the commercial and avant-garde industries. Her work frequently raises a social commentary on issues she sees in society.
Her successes started with a feature in Vogue Talents by Vogue Italia (Italy, September 2014) with her Raffles ‘Pre-Collection’.
Other competitive successes include Designers Project presented by Notjustalabel (Italy, May 2015); Finalist at
BENEXT Fashion Design Contest 2015 (Georgia: May 2015); Finalist at the MITTEL MODA Fashion Award 22nd Edition (Italy, May 2015); Finalist at The Fashion Clash Festival (Netherland, July 2016).
